Folder Creation in Session Manager http://superputty.cl0.vanillaforums.com/discussion/34/folder-creation-in-session-manager Tue, 16 Aug 2011 12:06:32 -0400 Meetshield 34@/discussions Can we have the ability to manage our sessions with folders like in putty connection manager?

I support 1000's of customers, and sort them into folders, with folders for each customer under that and locations under that.

If I were to use Super Putty it has to have this feature.  I can't dump 4000 connection profiles into a single folder ....

Thanks Meetshield

I am using Putty Connection Manager, and it seems Super-Putty would be a good replacement as it is actually currently being developed.

SuperPutty has stopped working http://superputty.cl0.vanillaforums.com/discussion/31/superputty-has-stopped-working Tue, 02 Aug 2011 15:13:03 -0400 Stefani 31@/discussions
In that time, SuperPutty has simply stopped, twice.

The first time, I was switching from one tab to another when a Windows window popped up, saying SuperPutty had stopped working and it would check to see if any fixes were available.

The second time, I was installing Epic/Eclipse/etc.., not doing anything with SuperPutty or puTTy, but I had it in the task bar with 8 windows attached. Then I got the same message - SuperPutty has stopped working.

This is not my area, so I don't know where to get any error messages.

Has anyone else had this happen? I checked the issues and couldn't see anythign.

I'm running puTTy 0.60, and blackoise's temp fix for the puTTy windows not attaching on a Windows 7 machine.

File trasfer blank? http://superputty.cl0.vanillaforums.com/discussion/50/file-trasfer-blank Wed, 07 Dec 2011 03:37:09 -0500 Peter 50@/discussions
Question 1:
I got the putty and pscp exe files located, got the sessions imported from PuTTy, right click a connection and choose "File Transfer".
This opens a blank (white) page in a tab, the only options are View, Sort and Refresh....no directory listings, no possiblity to change directory etc.
What am I missing (or am I missunderstanding the function...I thought it would make a scp gui (like e.g. WinSCP) based on interpretations from screenshots...)

Question 2:
It works fine to open SSH sessions in separate tabs, but I see no possibility to cascade them/line them up next to each other so I can see more than one tab at the same time. I've seen this being done on screenshots too, so what am I missing?

(I'm running SuperPutty 1.0.3 and Putty/PSCP 0.61 on Win 7...)

PuTTy windows are not attached http://superputty.cl0.vanillaforums.com/discussion/28/putty-windows-are-not-attached Tue, 12 Jul 2011 10:12:47 -0400 Stefani 28@/discussions I installed  superputty-setup_v1.0.3

I set up new SSH connections and when I connect, I get a detached, regular puTTy window opening up. The very first time I did it, I also got a tab labeled with the IP address, but there's nothing in the tab.

On my task bar, once I connect, it shows both SuperPutty and puTTy.

I'm not sure what else to add. I was thrilled to find SuperPutty because I was tired of managing 6 or 7 puTTy windows, but it's just not working.

Any ideas?

Editing Stored Session bug http://superputty.cl0.vanillaforums.com/discussion/40/editing-stored-session-bug Thu, 06 Oct 2011 12:06:58 -0400 wicketr 40@/discussions I saved a session with a user name. I have now tried numerous times tried deleting the username without success. It seems to remember it for a bit. But if i close superputty and reopen it, it re-populated the user name field with the value i had deleted. Doesn't seem like it's saving the change to the file.

Enhancements:
1. Also wish it remembered the positioning of the Sessions List (left, right, etc), as well as whether i have it pinned or not.
2. Also actual folders would be nice.
3. The root folder, "Putty Sessions", is unnecessary. Plus you can't have anything but that one folder anyway right now. :)

BTW, i noticed in github that nothing has been changed in 2 months. Is this project dying like the many others before it? :-(

I am a bit puzzled as it was mentioned that these releases have already fixed this bug.

Tab Names and Window Sizes http://superputty.cl0.vanillaforums.com/discussion/32/tab-names-and-window-sizes Thu, 11 Aug 2011 21:30:35 -0400 fyao 32@/discussions I've been using SuperPutty since about the time of the recent Putty upgrade.

It's working great except one two things:

1.  I connect via ssh to a Check Point firewall (running SPLAT - hardened linux).  When I first connect, I am in "cp" mode, and have access to a very limited set of commands.  This causes putty to not be able to set the title bar with the host name of the firewall, and instead, I get the IP address I connected to.  However, when I enter "expert" mode, I get access to all the commands, and putty updates the title bar to have the name of the server.  SuperPutty does not appear to do this, which isn't that big of an issue, except that my firewalls have very similar IP address (differing only by the 2nd octet), and I suspect that someday, I am going to reboot the wrong firewall.

2.  I have all of my putty sessions configured to a screen size of 80x25, but I suspect that the default screen size I get when I connect via SuperPutty is not 80x25.  It is narrower, for sure.  I can maximize the window, but then I get something wider.

Any words of wisdom would be great. :)

thanks for listening,

- fyao

bundling superputty with C/C++ interpreter ch for distribution http://superputty.cl0.vanillaforums.com/discussion/29/bundling-superputty-with-cc-interpreter-ch-for-distribution Thu, 14 Jul 2011 02:27:21 -0400 woods 29@/discussions I am checking if I can recommend softintegration  to bundle superputty for distribution along with its ch shell  (
It can be a great development and admin tool together with superputty.

I just tried the latest release of superputty (v1.03)
A couple  of questions to ask if you don't mind.
1) is there a way I can set the path for putty and pscp from command line?
2) if I start supperputty and make a fist putty session connection, the Password prompt becomes two lines. It looks strange ( a minor issue though).
3) if I have putty connected to the remote site, right click "Duplicate session" or "New session" from the putty tab wont work.
I have 5 putty sessions open and then got disconnected,  I cannot restart the session by right click the tab. It requires to close all of them manually first.  A standalone putty allows you to click left top of "restart session" to get it work.  is there a fix?
4) when will be the next release of superputty?

thank you for the great work.
Woods.

Also when the focus is given back to SuperPutty's window, would it be possible to give it to the active tab.  For example, if I use alt-tab to return to SuperPutty, typing should be directed to the active session (ssh).

I have to keep many open ssh sessions for my daily work and this app is fantastic.

Thanks to all.

I looked into the code and the other points are not implemented.

I have no idea how to implement them, do you or anyone else know how to do this?
Would even be nice to have a point "PuTTy menu" (or something like that) that shows the original PuTTy contextmenu.

Maybe it makes sense to open the original PuTTy contextmenu directly on a rightclick on a sessiontab?
Do we lose some functionality/options with that?
